06.29.24 - Saturday Meditation - Spaciousness

Hello and good morning, friends!

I've wondered about how and what to share with you about the last month. There have been some pretty drastic and stressful changes in terms of work and life and balance. When things go off kilter in this way, I tend to have a hard time sticking with the things that support me. Maybe this feels familiar to you too. The very things that will help us with the situation feel less and less approachable, especially as we gain distance from them.

In the past week, I've been able to do some connecting back in to my body and have started to settle my nervous system a bit. Meditation is starting to settle. (Please know that even long term meditators sometimes have trouble sitting. The energy we can build up around the things in our lives can make it difficult! It feels sometimes like I want to vibrate right off my seat! But still we find a way...) I find every time I am faced with something that throws me off in this way, I learn a little bit more of what it is to stay with what supports me. I hope you find this too.

For today's meditation, we're exploring spaciousness. When things feel stressful like they have been for me, I often start to feel closed in. Maybe something feels this way to you too. I hope a little breath helps us find some space...

✨ The July meditation classes are up! I'm especially excited about adding a virtual option to the Sunday night classes as well as walking meditations, lovingkindness class, and an intro to meditation class as well.

✨ A new addition to the offerings line up is Story (Half) Hour. This is an idea I've played around with for a long time and I'm pleased it's finally here. I consider these sessions part of my chaplaincy/support options, a bearing witness session of sorts. I am struck all of the time with how we hold so many stories and sometimes they just need to be heard in a neutral, caring space.
